Demo room for Jotun Paints,
Flixborough.
An underused space with a big job to do.
Following the successful redesign of Jotun's Glasgow office, we were invited back to collaborate with their team on a new project at their UK head office in Flixborough.
The brief was to revitalise an underused space and transform it into a multifunctional demo area. The space needed to showcase Jotun's full product range, while supporting team training, partner visits and informal meetings in a branded, customer-ready environment.
Four moves that transformed the space.
We reworked the layout, making sure every element, from demo units through to furniture, was placed with purpose to maximise impact and function.
Tired flooring was replaced with durable new carpet tiles and modern furniture created a comfortable, functional space for discussion and training.
The demo units and tinting machine were built into the design rather than added as afterthoughts. We coordinated dimensions and access to make them feel seamlessly part of the room.
We added a new acoustic slat feature wall, bespoke cabinetry and full redecoration to elevate the space visually, aligning with Jotun's brand while keeping the room smart and practical.
A hub for product, people and partners.
The result is a sleek, modern demo suite that allows Jotun to communicate its product story with confidence and clarity. The space now serves as a central hub for technical discussions, client visits and partner training.
The integrated sample display system makes complex coating technologies more engaging and tactile, helping visitors better understand Jotun's solutions in a hands-on environment.
Turning underused space Into a business asset
Underused space is a missed opportunity, particularly when it could be helping customers better understand what your business does. For Jotun, the goal was to turn an existing room into somewhere that could showcase products while also supporting training, technical discussions, partner visits and informal meetings. By integrating the demo equipment and product displays into the design, rather than treating them as an afterthought, the space now has a clear purpose beyond simply looking good. The project shows how thoughtful commercial interior design can turn an overlooked area into a practical business tool, creating a space that helps communicate complex products, supports the team and gives customers a more engaging experience.
